Mr. Vassilev graduated in Bulgarian and German linguistics from Sofia University and Martin Luther University in Germany. He is a leading international political advisor and expert and has extensive experience in the Bulgarian, Balkan and European electronic media industry. In 1991 he joined the Bulgarian national television and gradually rose to the position of Programme Director and Director of Information. During his career he has made numerous interviews and has undertaken advisory assignments for leading European heads of state and governments. In 1996 he was the head of Bulgarian national television’s correspondent office in Bonn and Berlin, Germany, where he monitored German and European affairs until 2000. In 2001 he became Founder and Head of news of Evropa TV, Bulgaria. He has published hundreds of articles on international policy issues in both the Bulgarian and international press. In 2004 he was appointed head of news of Information Agency Focus. He has acted as international policy advisor to the Chairman of 39th Bulgarian Parliament from 2004 to 2005. Mr. Vassilev has also acted as the Programme Director of BBT, a leading Bulgarian national news channel. Mr. Vassilev has written and published three books on international politics.
